(solved) how do i add tempo to a midi file in audacity?

i've been spending a few hours trying a few methods that i thought would work. but nope
anyone know how?

audacity isn't designed to handle midi sequencing, but here's a page on it: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Midi

cut the samples and align manually.

look for a plugin.

find a program designed to handle midis, then export to audacity for tuning.

I would suggest you pick up a dedicated midi editor for this.

https://www.midieditor.org/ is free and very simple to adjust tempo.
