Are cosmetics in video games unhealthy?
The more you see the more you get the more you want to buy. Is it an adiction to want to constantly spend money on cosmetic crates or skins?

I don't condone the purchase of cosmetic items if that's what you want.

I do condone spending a month's rent on a stupid knife pattern.
You may want to double-check the definition of condone

Cosmetics are usually something in multiplayer games, and I stopped playing multiplayer games years ago so I don't really care

Depends. I like wearing shiny flashy cosmetic on my char.

It become unhealthy when you don't manage your money wisely.

End of the day, it's to support the game developer. So i am satisfied.

Do video game cosmetics make one unable to function in life and society? If so, then they’d be unhealthy.

I hear tell that they will give you cancer. And will also end gaming.

Or they make your characters butt look good. I forget which

I remember the time when we found those things in the game, now... all we have to do is open our wallets, no more fun and finding them ingame. :(

I used to not mind cosmetic microtransactions but now, I dislike them with a passion.

Anyways; Self control is all people have when it comes to buying them.I also can't say if it's some kind of addiction as the word isn't used lightly.

Cosmetics you get randomly from boxes simulate gambling and can become addictive. It's generally the rush you get thinking you'll get a rare item worth hundreds of dollars by using a 2 dollar key to open the crate.

When it comes down to it, Valve has mastered the art of the online gamble. People selling cosmetic items for a hundred dollars at times in their personal market where they still profit off of the item sold.

If you find yourself hooked upon 'paying' for visual virtual items, you probably should start to question your actions and weed yourself from doing so.

If it's like an once off in a blue moon, sweet. However, if you are continuously doing it. You will probably find you aren't actually satisfied or wanting an end result, but addicted to the process instead, which will get you nowhere but in an endless loop of wasting money on nothing of real value or purpose. You are merely spending for the sake of it.

It's about as unhealthy as someone purchasing hundreds of shoes, when they can only wear one pair at a time, and probably would honestly need two pairs max to be useful. Yet they like and become addicted to the concept of going out and buying them (not the actual usage of them).

Have/Wants != Need
