Sure. Burger can be a sandwich, sometimes, too. Or even a panini. And a hotdog can be the U.S. equivalent of a taco!
Hard shell tacos and breakfast tacos are really the US equivalent of a taco.

Sometimes they'll toss dogs into the sandwich section on menus but only because nobody really knows WTF they are.. and if they actually did then they prolly would never eat another dog unless they were hammered.
