I love Metal for the most part, but there aren't many Death Metal bands I like. That subgenre is kinda boring and try hard half the time imo.

Yeah. I listen to a few death metal bands:

Jungle Rot, Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower. I think there are a few others but the names are not coming to me right now.

Yeah, I love Death Metal and some Brutal/Slam Death is actually quite good. It just depends on the artists. I would argue though that most Brutal/Slam Death is absolute trash imo. I can't into the extreme repetition of that music sub-genre, and I hate the pig vocals too boot. I like Cannibal Corpse, Bolt-Thrower, Jungle Rot, Grave, Unleashed, Carnage, Death, Gorguts, Carcass, and I like Obituary. I like many more too but I just don't feel like naming them all. Deathcore/Metalcore is complete trash imo. I can't get into those genres, although there are some minor exceptions here and there.

I also can't stand Screamo, I despise that genre tremendously. I hate the whiny/cry-baby and sissy-style vocals in that genre. That genre is full of 120-pound dweebs pretending they're "hardcore". I can't get into power-metal either, but there are some exceptions here and there. I love Black-Metal, Grindcore, Tech/prog/melodic metal as well. I'm also not into Goregrind for the same reasons why I hate most Brutal/Slam-Death. It's too repetitive and boring. I am sick and tired of bands trying to "out gore" each other with their dumb lyrics and album covers. It's like we get it, you loved the first 2 album covers of Carcass.

No, a fan of Heavy Metal. I said "the OG genre" because that's where most of metal's sub-genres branched off of. Though these days, it's easier to just say what bands you like. Metal-heads will be able to figure out the rest.
