it's just so advanced, the looks, effects, editing, acting, movies are something that can only get better, with some fukups in between just like games
super mario aint no witcher 3
A lot these days dont rely on a sound script with actors who can actually act. It all taped together in CGI these days of the worst possible kind.
Believe it or not but china contributes alot to movie sales. However; they need to meet certain requirements or else they won't play them in their country (and not just china but probably other countries do this ♥♥♥♥ too).
Some guidelines include: chinese person in the main cast, no form of anti-government messages in the movie or theme of the movie, etc.
Also Most movies are now sorta all CGI or require a heavy budget to make unlike in the past. This is probably due to things like royalties (for marketing brands), hiring A-list actors, the equipment and sets, etc.
Granted that they do make a difference, you just end up getting basically...well...transformers franchise tbh where they mostly recycle the fight setups and overuse CGI explosions and characters too much.
also to add, theres too much shameless brand marketing in movies (most of the top grossing ones anyhow). Companies like budwieser and lays try to cash in (also fortnite if you watched the recent avengers movie). idk but to me it makes me feel like i'm watching an intricate commercial more than a movie. Wouldn't be too bad if it was subtle but they just throw/shove it in your face at certain points.
lastly i don't wanna make a big deal of it but i'm 100% sure that the PC culture has affected the movies alot. Filling in more agendas than actually making a good film ruins it. Sometimes they flesh out the entire climax of the film to get their message through and it only brings down the enjoyable experience.
Also canceled HBO that is showing the same stuff.
It's just a bunch of people whining.
Modern movies are just as good as the old movies. Nothing has changed. except for the fact that now we have this class of cinematic snob, that seems to favor old world over quality.
Uh, you say china is to blame for endless stream of unwanted sequels and remakes? And plots written by debils for imbeciles-only? I have my doubts, and the mentality looks more that found around Hollywood.
The witty/sarcastic protagonist, the jokes during disaster or destruction sequences to distract the audience from that fact that hundreds of people may be dying, the villains with edgy backstories, the cliche companions (I’ve seen more unique characters in d&d groups)... just sick of it.
Let's use a very popular movie as an example.
Everything you just said is die hard 3. Or Terminator 2.
Marvel didn't create any of this stuff, you just happened to see it last in their movies.
Especially with what Disney is doing; seriously, leave your classics alone Disney, they're fine.
