Which Necromancer class is better, Diablo 3 or Grim Dawn?
I'm looking for a game where I can be a bit like the protagonist from Overlord ( no not the movie set during WW2, I'm talking about the anime here ). I'm also looking to see which game will allow me to summon low to high level undead to use in my attacks. So which game does it better?

I have not played Grim Dawn. I remember that Diablo 3 had the Necromancer class replaced with Witch Doctor.
Was re added later as a class.

Diablo 3 hands down has the better classes and Gameplay in general if you ask me. Only other game that's come close was the original torchlight. 2nd one wasnt good at all if you ask me.

I consider grim dawn a very bland arpg to begin with.

what - the game is nowhere bland, you just require some time and progression, which is different in Diablo. I see why you're saying this though.

Anyway OP, if I have to choose between these two, I would pick Diablo 3. Granted you havent played the game yet, it is a good experience for a while.

Personally I find Diablo 3 to be limited on build options. You can only have 4 skills active at a time, and thus limits what you are able to do. I find it to be way more simplistic than what was offered in Diablo II.

Grim Dawn on the other hand gives you more class combinations to work with. Thus allowing you to have access to more skills. This also means a larger amount of summons that can be active at a time.

So I can be something equivalent to a death god or Lord Ins ( From Overlord anime )?
I much prefer GD overall, but if we're only looking at a "pure summoner" necromancer, I'd agree Diablo 3 does it better. There's a few interesting design choices in there too, like skeletons being a largely passive ability.

Consider Path of Exile too, plenty of raising the dead and consuming corpses to do there as well.
