Golf games can be surprisingly enjoyable, as are some fishing games. Don't play many sports games myself, but I have a few, and I think that anyone who's more "counter culture" can enjoy them and not have to turn in their membership card or anything.

Best way to not be mainstream is to just ignore what is and isn't mainstream, and just take up whatever interests you damn well please. Like, people who study pop culture as a whole, without prejudice for either of those things, can wend their way through mainstream and counter-culture without compromising themselves. But some people, like the kind of hipsters who are obsessed with avoiding mainstream at all costs, are pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mainstream people, in a way. It's kinda like what Zion is in the Matrix sequels, where everyone living in it thinks that it's the last bastion of freedom, but really it's just another system of control, and it had been the whole time. Well, that's what hipsterism is: a way to control people who refuse to let themselves be controlled, but are too stupid to know the first thing about defending themselves against being controlled. It's a cheap trick, so just try to focus on what you want to focus on.
