I mean NOW, it makes sense, since Fortnite is a friggin cash cow with every kid smashing their piggy banks to get their latest fix... er skins and emotes?
Like I get it, they took the money, now they have to speak the party line, but you'd think they'd spin it a little.
They see Netflix getting chipped away at and think "Yeah, we should totally get into that boat and aim our harpoons at valve."
Randy of course called himself a visionary, and this Fredrik Wester guy says it's about the market and "decency" when absolutely no one held a gun to his head about putting Paradox games on Steam.
People also still don't understand that he was talking about cuts and competition and not "Epic" as such. One might also remember that Tencent owns stocks in Paradox both directly and indirectly (via daughter companies) So it makes perfectly sense for them to be "semi neutral" and just say competition is good.
A business wanting more money, who'd have thunk it.
Boy Paradox really knows how to make money from some people.
To quote Oliver Twist, "Please sir can we have some more?"
