Check under: Start > Run/Search > Type "msconfig.exe" (without the quotes) and select from the list. Then under that Windows configuration tool, check the "Boot" tab for your Operating System. Select it and go under "Advanced Options". Is maximum memory ticked there? If so, is it lower than the RAM you have? If so, untick it and then ok back out, reboot. Done.
You shouldn't need any third party app tool to 'patch' over an original EXE just to adjust it's memory. That's really old and probably not required, just high risk of injecting whatever code they want to run on top of it (like a virus or possible breaking copyright protection on some games for thinking it's a crack/modified EXE, etc).
how did it turn out?
