Epic CEO: exclusives are "only" way to mess with PC gaming status quo

He justifies it by saying the addition of new features to its store is unnecessary because they will not be "revolutionary" enough to convert Steam gamers to join Epic

So he acknowledges that Epic will never be able to compete with Steam features, that's why he wants to monopolize certain games for a year

Like others have said, I am fine with Steam having competition (I actually like Uplay's reward system for example) but to strip away consumer choice like this is a big mistake imo

if exclusive games are the only way they can compete with steam, epic is dead in the water

dont forget that the epic games store launched with barebones features and even had spyware on it courtesy of tencent, they are about as much competition to steam as the ouya was to the PS4

Huh, don't forget Tim Sweeney created Epic Games before Gabe made Valve. To diminish Epic's accomplishments is simply history denial.

epic games actually knew what they were doing back in the day as opposed to just getting fortnite fame and creating a store that has barebones features, not even a wishlist option that steam already had for a decade
