Anyone know when GOG 2.0 is out for everyone?
They were planing to let you launch all your games from different clients in one place. Assuming they do a good job then the mess of the new Steam UI will no longer matter.

No and I don't care. Why would I use it for opening Steam? :^)

2nd and 3rd is the exact same as steam

Except the 2nd one seems more light because steam version is filled with some stuff that people doesn't care (and cannot be removed)

The first one is what people wanted but steam never had this feature, they simple put it on side and combine with the 2nd image where in GOG the left library is for the launcher and steam is for game list not launcher.
Some pages look a lot like Steam indeed, but if you look a bit more closely, where Galaxy wins is that there is much less redundant buttons (like the home button, friends UI and Downloads featured in two places at least) and visually because GOG is using an open design instead of that "window in a window in a window[i.imgur.com]" approach steam has adopted. This is coming from the fact that Galaxy is a standalone app while Steam's library is rendered as a browser page. As I noted the "What's New" section[i.imgur.com] which can't be disabled, is the worst offender, eating so much space to display basically nothing of interest.

But let's not turn that into another feedback thread. :HappyOtus:

Good, different opinions are nice too. How boring would it be otherwise! :etgpilot:

It uses quite a bit of memory, and it seems to put my hardware to more use than it should for a client.
A bit early I'd say.

OT: I have been finding the What's New section in Steam to be more useful as time goes by.
I still wish I could collapse it though, at least. I don't know why they insist on jamming it down our throats like that (combined with defaulting to the Home page all the time, it becomes tiring).
Maybe it's temporary for early testing and awareness.

Thanks for the info, hopefully they step it up and release it soon. I never got into the Beta and applied ages ago.

Yeah I really like the looks of the library when those community elements are out of the way

I already visit the activity feed regularly so the "What's New" section is completely wasted on me, taking up space in my library for no benefit since it's the same info.

I was one of the first to apply in June and only got in recently. It seems that they're super careful as to how they approach this. It could step on the toes of giants who could feel threatened and suddenty close access to their API or encrypt the data Galaxy is relying on to function.

You'll get your invite too, eventually. Have a nice one! :happyotus:

I'm into the Galaxy 2.0 Beta and it looks good. There's every filter you'd need and It's simple yet customisable:

A single game page:

There's also an optional grid view if you're into visual interfaces.

Somehow every other launcher is giving us more options while Steam is removing them... I really don't understand. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

Yep, that first one is the format that we want.

Valve should have known better than to remove List View from Steam.

Even with GOG Galaxy is free everyone. Nothing is free, everything has cost some are just less obvious than others. Because every storefront policy is differ than the others

here's hopping, Red Dead will be the test bed i guess for easy MP joining across multiple platforms. But almost definetly you can , and it will.

Depends on the game, some games won't have online multiplayer / coop support, and if you value that in your game depending what one it is, you will have to get Steam version sadly.

A Hat in Time doesn't have multiplayer / coop support online for GoG, but it is supported on Steam for an example, so users that go the GoG version, can't play with other GoG users, nor with Steam users, and only Steam users can play with other Steam users, the way they set it up in the game doesn't really rely on the Steam API from how you do it in the game, since you just enter a code to get into each other rooms, that's about it, so GoG users should've gotten this support, but didn't but reason unclear as to why, but this is just one example BTW.

There games like Final Fantasy 15 Origin users can interact with Steam users same vice versa, while Window store version can interact with Xbox users same vice versa, yet Origin and Steam can't interact with neither Windows store, and xbox version. You get the point by now for these examples.

RDR2 is the same as GTA 5, you shouldn't have an issue as you be using Social Club DRM to interact with each others that across Rockstar client, Epic, and Steam, think of Uplay games exact same thing.
Quint the Alligator Snapper 2019 年 11 月 7 日 下午 5:15
I very much understand getting Steam for online multiplayer because Steam's multiplayer backend is actually very robust and works very well.

But for single-player games, which is most of what I buy/play, I'd rather go DRM-free.
