I want to play XOW on PC.
It seems that the game is a Games for Windows LIVE exclusive.

If I buy the game (which is ridiculously expensive for such an old game now) will it run on Windows 10 and will I be able to add it as a non Steam game?

provided you can get games for windows live running, it will run through steam as a "non steam game" yes.

the issue is GFWL. M$ depreciated it long ago. the installer for it the game comes with will be too out of date to run on windows 10. you will have to seek out the newest version.

GFWL still exists. Just the Marketplace was shut down.

Not all GFWL games will connect to the Live service. Dark Souls for instance. If you are looking to sync your achievements with the service you will need to run another game that does connect to Live (I used Fallout 3). If you don't care about achievements, then do not worry about this. You'll just have to make sure you can get the game to run.

I haven't played Wolverine but with Dark Souls you could bypass the Live portion of the game loading by hitting esc.

Big game requirements tell you what operating systems it works under. And minimum and recommended hardware specs.

It's perplexing to me that you can't see the benefit to my inquiry here.

It's a shot in the dark expecting that on a board not devoted to the game or even Games for Windows LIVE games. Suggesting that you search out more information on the game, and websites devoted to that information, gives you a better place to look for those very people.
