Pennywise is a gigantic alien spider that can warp reality.

Sweet tooth is a clown with his head on fire driving an ice cream truck.

My money's on pennywise.
John Wayne Gacy.

Fake clowns Cant compete with actual serial killer clowns lol gacy wins.
There's a lot of depth in Stephen King's IT character...

Firstly it's based upon a real life criminal who's in prison for life due to being a clown who killed off a bunch of male adults and teens, hiding their bodies in the sewer. IT claims its true name is "Bob Gray" in the book, which is what the serial killer "John Wayne Gacy" used. The character itself is based upon him and his drawings he did on his prison walls.

Gacy would dress up as a clown for children's birthday parties, visit them in hospitals, etc. Families loved him. Yet he was killing children and hiding their bodies in the sewers. He sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered at least 33 teenaged boys and young men between 1972 and 1978 in Cook County, Illinois.

The next thing to know is IT isn't even a "clown". Rather it's an alien from outer space, which feeds off fear and therefore shape-shifts into what you most fear. It targets mostly children as they have the most fear.

If you consider the start, Richie was sick in his bedroom with clown wallpaper. He created a paper boat for his brother, George, who at the time actually fears the room, due to the fact he assumed his brother was dying in it. Also, has a strong fear of clowns as a side-effect of that.

IT morphed into a clown to play off that fear.

The girl is afraid of being ♥♥♥♥♥ by her father. This plays out in the book a lot too, but of course not so much in the movie.

The black kid seeing the hands behind the locked door while the building is burning down has a back story in the book too. It's about his fear of racism.

If you pay extra notice, you will even find out the bully, Henry, is a homosexual and has sexual frustrations with a fear building from that.

Henry actually sexually harasses Bevery, but isn't actually interested in her at all. Rather has more of an interest with the boys of the group.

Patrick is interested in Henry, but Henry rejects the idea.

Raised in a poor, violent environment by his mentally ill father (Butch was ex-marine and went insane from war memories). Henry only moment of his dad expressing being "proud" of him and gave him a beer, was the time he killed Mike's dog. He also has racism towards afican-americans. Again his father was a racist. Henry is encouraged and rewarded into violent behavior. Wanting approval.

Fear of self-hate, not getting approval, etc.

IT feed off all those things too.

Each character has extreme depth and personality. Based around certain fears fueling them, as well as hopes/desires. Showing the scars of the past and parents playing into it, the works.

Bottom line: IT is a creature, which feeds off fear. It doesn't actually want to kill, unless it can get the highest amount of fear from it. It will actually play and toy with emotions and even let them live.

Totally the winning answer.
Doesn't Sweet Tooth dress like a clown because the alien responsible for the Twisted Metal tournament tortured him until he went insane, and he started dressing like a clown in order to 'become' the alien that was torturing him?

Also isn't he the only one who has canonically won every tournament, or at least has destroyed the alien every time regardless of who wins?

Or the alien somehow grants all of their wishes at once, and Sweet Tooth always wishes for it to die or something?

Kept changing every game it seemed like.
