But if rumors are true, my interest in pokemon is totally dead due to the new switch battle system.
I don't have a switch.
Its way too early for another Story of seasons.
The only thing that would excite me is they finally give the switch the ability to run gamecube games and they come out that pokemon switch won't have a new battle system that destroys compeditive.
Or you know, nintendo can be actually different from other consoles and allow mods. So their minecraft version on switch is da best, pc not included.
This. This all the way. I would love to play Super Mario Sunshine on the go.
I doubt any of that will happen though, aside from Pokemon.
I also doubt that that battle system leak is true. Nintendo would do that for a spinoff, but likely not for a main-series game. The main giveaway is that they "already finished" the Chinese version, despite the fact that the game is likely still in a beta phase. I doubt they would fully translate a game before finishing it.
If they change anything in the combat, they have to nerf stalling abilities, buff grass and ice types, nerf Water, and make Dragon effective against Steel. That would make the meta actually fun rather than the 999-turn meme it's turned into on Showdown.
I expect more Zelda DLCs and a new Fire Emblem game with gameplay centered around dating Lolis and traps like the last game.
The rule of nintendo is always a new mechanic to justify a game being made. So that's one reason I think the leaks could be real. Maybe gamefreak always wanted 3d live action combat like digimon world, but never had the power to until now or they've run out of ideas for other new mechanics.
Pokemon has slowly been "borrowing" digimon ideas for a while now.
Also the switch has been letting other games try wild changes like zelda going open world. And mario's possessing hat.
A new F-Zero would also be nice, Nintendo's been sitting on that franchise forever.
I could see the blocking system becoming real, but nothing else.
They can't change the formula too much (aside from spinoffs) without risking jeopardizing the playerbase of their online game, which is bad. I expect that we're just going to go back to Gameboy-esc combat due to the design of the console.
Also Pokken flopped, so they know that people don't really care for Pokemon fighting games. (I know it failed because of it being a Wii U game and the lack of content, but still)
