They have other tricks, Cathulhu. There's the Unreal engine, you might have heard of it. I think there's a couple of games made with it.

Also, they have crazy-money side projects, like the rides at Disney's Galaxy's Edge parks -- how much is Disney paying Epic to make and maintain those, I wonder? Granted, those will die soon, too, since nobody under 40 really gives two hoots about Star Wars any more, and they look like ghost towns. But I'm sure Disney enlists Epic to do other rides in other parts of their parks, too. Wouldn't doubt if Universal Studios uses them, either.

I don't see them going away even if Fortnight dies. They're evil and they suck, but they're not entirely stupid enough to put all their eggs in that one basket.

Well, they are burning a lot of that money they made through Fortnite to push the Epic Game Store. And i mean a lot.

They get billions from Fortnight alone. They don't publicly reveal their numbers, but I'm guessing more than a billion each for both Galaxy's Edge rides, plus ongoing maintenance. I'm guessing more billions from the Unreal engine, which is near ubiquitous, at least on games I own -- it's like 2 out of 3 splash screens.

A few billion here, a few billion there... pretty soon you're talking about some real money!

Kidding aside, we aren't privvy to their actual numbers, but I'm guessing Epic isn't behaving like a typical undeserving lottery winner here, and probably has planners and financial experts at work who see things we don't see.

It won't disappear but it shows fact that people won't believe that Battle Royale is a Fad.

It was a temporal successful genre but without any Pillar to make it a good long run.
What I meant as a pillar was something that keeps people interested with much more different content each year.

You can even see Fortinite championship was like a big facepalm as the player themselves feels lifeless and the audience itself like doesn't exist to watch it.

Then if you compare to game such as Dota 2/CSGO you can see how not he player even hyped including the tension it has, The audience were also hyped which is the reason why these two games were one of Valve most successful game that stays mostly the same for year.

Competition exist too.
Free To Play players will rarely stay on the same game.
So Fortinite losing revenue is unavoidable either way.

I must be one of the few people who have never played Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG and the countless other hyped games. Can't say I have ever had the itch to play any of them even with the huge amounts of hype surrounding them at one point or another.

As for Epic I have Honestly stopped caring whether Epic Games or and the storefront does well or not. If they eventually displace Steam fair play to them, if not at least they are putting in a little effort with the freebies (resisted the temptations personally) securing exclusives but yeah that's better left for another topic. As with the games they own both Fortnite and Rocket League now, honestly not sure how Rocket League stacks up against other multiplayer games but it seems to do fairly well. It's wishful thinking for people to think they are going away anytime soon.

I did tried out all those 3 games but like 30 seconds since my younger brother played it.
Though I never interested with this kind of game,
Hyped game with sudden popularity will likely a fad.

Considering tons of people hating on the battle royale genre whether they tried it or not, you're definitely not alone. I never cared much about the hype surrounding those kind of games but I don't see the appeal of individuals / groups hunting each other down on large battlegrounds. I enjoyed that idea in the "Hunger Games" trilogy but over there the "kill or be killed" scenario is combined with a good storyline and some meaningful background.
