well. the issue is that they don't have the skills and funding for that. building a mechanical robots isn't easy. and they need to get out a functional model as soon as possible to acquire funding.

there is a reason even movie mechs aren't build in real life.

we have the atlas robot though. that thing is legit. and agility robotics makes very sexy walking legs.
