non-violent coop splitscreen games recommendations
Hello there,

I have recently introduced my girlfriend to the world of gaming and had a blast having her play telltale games and cooking simulator etc. and she loved it as well.

I would like to know about more games which we can both play splitscreen or in a local coop mode. We recently finished Overcooked and she would love any games similar to that. She still has terrible hand-eye coordination on a controller so Castle Crashers or Broforce is not ideal for her right now. And she is not too fond of gore and blood unless its on a moderate level. Also, any game where we would have to use our brains and not just mashing buttons would be lovely.

Im thinking of Portal 2 as an option for now but I wanted to see if you guys have any recommendations as well.

Thanks.

I play local splitscreen co-op on Minecraft with the kids in survival mode. It is a pretty easy game and it has creative mode. We are messing about with the Skyrim, Fallout and Nord mash up packs.

Slime rancher perhaps? Farming and stuff allthough not sure how violent or hectic it is mid end game.?

Heard good stuff about this being emotional story. Not sure about the gore part, but doesnt seem to be a gore fest.

One of you going to have to be on the keyboard (from experience from the first one which I played, the keyboard is very fast once you learn the recipes and have some practice)

Then you have beautiful Trine as a puzzle platformer:

What about a heist game?

And the famous:

this is not a co-op but Cats could be magical if it's your girl's thing. let PC Gaming do its magic ...

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions! I have added them all to my wishlist and will go through each, one by one. Much love.

Sounds like the two of you would have fun with Monster Prom - original and lots of humor, local and online coop, no hand-eye coordination needed, no gore.

In case anyone came here looking for non-violent games in general, you might want to check out two new Curators reviewing Non-violent Entertainment and Peaceful Adventures and Stories (full disclosure: I contribute to the latter).

The first criteria alone is sadly a rarity in the world today.
Also isnt portal full of guns and shooting?
