I would never buy one, though. I can't tell the difference past 1440p so in my case buying a 4K TV/Monitor would be pointless.
Don't know about HDR as I've never seen any monitors/TV's that have that feature.
You could always use those slim 1080-1440 monitor though the difference are small.
I would be glad to take 1080 or 1440 anytime instead 4k monitor. Because it's too big.
Multi monitor are more useful for digital art editing than games.
I went from 1080p to 1440p and it was night and day, the difference in quality is definitely there as you don't see that blur, objects are more sharp and you can see the stitching in clothing without jaggies.
1440p to 4k is a lot less noticeable unless you're playing a game that uses a lot of particles effects such as Uncharted 3 and 4, The Division etc not to mention a lot of games aren't exactly taking advantage of 4k as of yet hence the reason "PSPRO ENHANCED" exists.
I hve seen HDR, and while it looks good, i much rather play at higher fps than 30.. Just my opinion.
Currently 1440p is the high-end sweetspot.
Other than GPU load I'd bet you won't be able to tell a massive difference between them.
