What else is new?
I no longer support new Paradox Interactive titles when all they do is DLC spam them into the ground. This is to the point that they become too expensive, or become unoptimized from content overload. I learned from my mistake with Cities: Skylines. The only way they will get money out of me is if I see a deep discounted complete edition.
I oppose all censoring of history, no matter how "dire or wrong" some might think the actions were.
That is why people voice up about this being cut, because what is next? People say that its just a text, sure.. but what is removed next? We have seen this in other game series, that have censored more and more until all that is left, is alternative history and happy faces.
They clearly have an agenda, you can see it not only in games, but also movies, books and even educational stuff now a days... I have seen history books for 6th graders having religious symbols removed, battles and traditions (because its deemed offensive or problematic)
Then the kids ask.. Is it true people in the medieval time were happy and never went to war......
Its more than the two battle cries being removed. Look at the article and what I wrote.. I fear the game is dumbed down and I am scared about the skill tree changes.. I do like the map and guess the new portraits might be alright, albeit people call it the sims
And if it is, I don't really care to be honest it's such a tiny part of my favourite game I probably wouldn't even notice.
They said that they think the "communication" about removing the words were misinterperated. But the words are censored out. One might say its not a big deal, its just a few words, but what if they also remove other things (by the same argument) no more marriage under 18, no more wife (female) killing, no more kids killing (they will be immortal until 18) no more crusades/jihads, equal rights from the game start in all cultures, etc etc etc.. Its problematic to censor stuff, because people or groups in our modern times adopt a saying or do similar actions...
That being said, its not a deal breaker for me, if they just replaced it with stuff like "god wills it" or whatever.. I am more scared about the new skill tree system and what looks to be a dumbed down game
The DLC practice is fine, their game last 7-12 years. Other studios spam you a new iteration every 6-12 months and still fork out dlc's. The only problem with CK3 on that regard will be if it offers less or equal to what CK2 did on release (I am fairly certain it does not) The reason they give us CK3 is mainly because the old engine CK2 is on can't handle anymore now.
Update – Henrik Fåhraeus offered this comment: “I feel like this issue has been miscommunicated thus far. We have not specifically considered which terms are used in the game apart from making sense in the historical context. The team will decide how any text fits or does not fit into CK3 in a way that feels appropriate.”
This is however what was written on the forums yesterday by their moderators.

Otherwise IDK. I guess removing this phrase is an acknowledgement of games being political even if people like to tell themselves that they aren't. *stuff* I just hope they will stay out of my pure waifu business with ther hysterical delusions.
I have not made any threads on either CK2/CK3 forum. I do have one on the original PDX forum (that one is still going strong, but is about the skill tree only)
Plenty of threads was deleted on the two forums, but they did not make proper questions, like this one do (it takes all into context) and as you can see also updates it.
There are a few good threads on CK3 forum atm as well.
