Autonomous sensory meridian response - it's supposed to make you feel all tingly.

Yeah, for guys it's the other head that gets stimulated up to the spine.

its like when something is satisfying and calming, like listening and watching someone paint, or carve wood. different people find different things a ASMR trigger.
I think "ASMR" is a term to refer to a tingly, pleasurable/comforting sensation.

Apparently some people feel this in response to certain sounds. So there are videos that purport to make people feel this by giving them a certain sound.

The result is videos filled with nothing but sound effects of a certain kind. Weird, but harmless.

Sometimes I watch this video. I guess it counts?

Let your significant other whisper sweet nothings in your ear.

Same thing.

I'd say it's not weird but then I remember that some of the ASMR videos that get a ton of views are just gross videos of people eating next to a mic.

Im not going to deny those people exist, but i really NEED asmr. The reason why i listen girls is it feels so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wrong if its dude whispering. Its kinda like getting a haircut, even though its not sexual guys would prefer it to be a girl who cuts the hair.

Its partially loneliness but majority of asmr appeal for me is that its one of the very few things that actually helps my anxiety. I got ocd and general anxiety disorder, i feel bad at least 50% of time every single day.

Never get any tingles though. I just immediately feel calmer and sleepy.

Its not the same thing. People who know wtf they're doing, uses high quality mics, and when you listen those sounds wearing headphones, the sounds have stronger "presence"... Idk how to describe it.
