I don't hate the Abrams Treks because they are not the originals.. I hate Abrams Treks because he changed trek from sci fi to mindless action

Probably, because he had a lot of material to plagiarize from within the Star Wars universe. I was personally disappointed with the cut, copy and paste nature of FA.
He could have done literally anything else, even during the same time period when Kirk and the crew were still around. You know what would have been an even better movie is if they concentrated on an entirely different crew and ship and had them work along side the enterprise with surprise cameos from the (new) original crew.
I don't know why holyweird needs to play it safe especially with franchises where the lore is the strongest aspect. I don't understand why people hail Abrams as the next coming of Jesus when he literally does not add anything to the lore.
The pace of Star Wars and Star Trek those films JJ Abrams doesn't give you any time to reflect on anything. I don't think he wants the audience to reflect how shallow these films are when they watching them. He is just into pushing slick fast and easy digestible films imo.
I liked what he did with Dark Knight so yeah he knowns how direct not just action, but drama.
