My Coffee Tastes Like Cough Syrup

In all honesty you probably need to make a new pot or look in your medicine cabinet and see if your out of cough syrup.

That would probably be a fine solution; but I made the pot this morning (this is my 2nd cup), and I would feel incredibly wasteful to just toss what's there all away.

All I have are cough drops which probably taste better, to be honest.

Normally I don't post on here, but as a person that loves coffee I think maybe you should get a new cup. If that taste bad maybe it's your coffee. Personally I like colombian coffee. Just a thought I wouldn't feel bad about the attempt at a stupid thread, but coffee is a serious matter. haha.

Well, I'm glad my thread prompted your participation!

That's been a solution in the past: Try my luck with another cup. I really think I just don't like Maxwell House. I usually just suck it up and consciously try to filter out the cough syrup taste. I get used to it, I guess.

:) Coffee usually promotes my participation, so creating a thread about it makes it impossible for me not to reply. :D I get Folgers, because Maxwell House isn't very good. It could be the flavor to I was given French Roast before and it's disgusting. I would make better coffee choices, but good luck with that taste...

Save up and buy a Keurig then. If you use the refillable cup, it's not that expensive to use and the coffee is always fresh. I can't go back to a regular coffee machine or instant anymore.

I had a bad experience with a Keurig being infested with cockroaches, as bizarre as that sounds. I did enjoy the coffee though, so I might get another Keurig... If that sounds right.

What does it smell like though? If you can't really smell anything, like the typical aroma of coffee, then its gone bad.

French roast is something I like! I'd definitely prefer it over my current cup.

Is your coffee HOME MADE from a coffee pot? Clean it or buy a new Coffee Maker.

Actually you're supposed to use the strongest syrup out there, not something like Robitussin.

But yeah, it is dangerous.

Coffee pot at home. It does need to be cleaned; but, a new coffee pot entirely is planned.
