I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released, yet I am used by almost everybody. What am I?

Whenever somebody answers the riddle, I’ll put up a new one, so make sure to look up here when someone answers right.

Because its not "his" home, and hes running around because he got a home run. And the masked guys are his team mates!
