Its bait, super has gotten higher ratings than king one piece on some of its newer eps.
I'm behind on One Piece, but I already see the problem rearing its ugly head. Arc fatigue, it happened with Eneru's arc and now it's happening with Thriller Bark/Post Thriller Bark. It just feels like a slog to watch or catch back up.

Thriller bark was ages ago. The current arcs are fine. Although the donflamingo arc had horrible amounts of pointless time wasting episodes near the later parts. The mink arc an the big mom arcs are fine so far.

Thoughts on Akame ga Kill? I thought it had a good plot, strong character development but like some part of the anime was kinda cheesy / out of place.

Wasn't bad, but dies out abruptly. If they're gonna make an anime, they should really plan to stick it out, until they can wrap up the story.

It did differentiate from the manga. It was well paced for a 24 episode anime. I guess the director wanted to include a shock factor to keep the audience on the edge.

Gantz was the worst manga to anime conversion I've ever seen. They litterally chopped it off right as it was getting good, and didn't really get into anything that went into why the "black ball", was actually doing what it was doing. The manga wrapped everything up on the other hand.

That's the problem with most of anime, they want to put everything in 12 or 24 episodes, so they chop off a lot of material and mostly focus on goofs or actions, not character development or plot.

They do it for promoting the manga and the visual/light novels.
