When I think about what Star Trek means to me, I think about a a sense of adventure; not that there can't be conflict but just fun. The overall theme of Star Trek: Discovery just seems to be war w/ the Klingons. To be fair, maybe the show will expand. When Babylon 5 first aired, it wasn't exactly must see TV but it morphed into something quite good. ( IMO )
Star Trek was always about asking thought provoking questions.
This '3rd gen' of Star Trek all action focused is grade A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Weirdly enough, I liked the Klingons more than I did Starfleet. It's mainly because the current crew (aside from Burnham) is primarily made up of sacrificial lambs, but still.
It's no TNG, but it at least achieves what it was set out to do.
Still not buying CBS All-Access. I'll wait for the eventual Netflix release.
