There are many possible numbers, but none are greater than the vastness of my current magnitude.
Yet, I decrease as you increase.
What am I?
Space
My best guess was a guitar string. Thanks for the answer. Your riddle was interesting! :)

(1)
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
(2)

As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.
(3)

Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays kings, ruins towns,
And beats high mountains down.
