Far Cry Primal also died really shortly after release. It was also probably one of the most "mixed" opinioned games I've seen.

there was game called uberstrike, you can see some gif and screenshots from it on my profile, it was most played fps on facebook before it went to steam but it died because developers did not develop it further and cheaters were unstoppable

C&C didn't die quickly? It's had a series since what? 1995? Starting with Tiberium Dawn. Tiberium Twilight killed the series because it sucked. Red Alert 3 didnt really please the old school fans either. I still prefer the first Red Alert over every other C&C game.

I remember double action when it came out. The issue that caused it to lose players so fast I feel was it was to bare meaning not enough stuff. Not to mention balance issues and the easily abused Left 4 Dead style vote kick system.

I would get kicked for just killing people.
