What are your thoughts on The Punisher series on Netflix?

I just finished it a couple days ago and I thought it was fantastic. Honestly my favorite out of all the Marvel series' (though I might be a little biased because the Punisher is one of my favorite characters). The action was heavy hitting and very brutal sometimes, especially the last two episodes. Jon Bernthal is perfect casting for the character as well. From someone who enjoyed Thomas Jane's Punisher, I can't see anyone but Bernthal as the character anymore. What are your thoughts?

You could stick to anime incase you don't like the great amount of TV shows on Netflix for a dirtcheap price, 4K and no ads....

However, i love it aswell. I watched every other Marvelshow there and The Punisher is by far my favorite. I didn't finish it so far, but i'm not far off it.

I remember Bernthal from The Walking Dead and he did a good job there already, though he is the definition of a badass. His voice, his body, his face, everything.

Not sure I can get behind a serial killer like the Punisher, but then again Dexter was a interesting watch and he was a serial killer. The Arrow was more gripping to watch when he went full on murderous vigilante in the early seasons. So the Punisher might work for me as viewing entertainment and he was the high point in the DareDevil series.

I don't watch anime, not weeaboo hatred it's just that most of them either have a boring story, a generic story, a way over the top story or just something bland. The closest thing to anime that was interesting was Avatar: The Last Airbender tbh but thats a western animation so probs don't count as anime.

Im giving you a honest opinion on this show, i dont want you to think its bad (its not) but here are a few shortcomings: The death of his family told through flashbacks is way to random and obsolete, the Punishers backstory is way to universal to be told over and over again. I wish they would have spend the time it took on Franks internal monologues or war journal entries.

He is sometimes potrayed in the series as someone who ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in the past and regrets his choices in an attempt to make him look better and sympathetic than he is/should be, thats not Frank Castle.
He is by all means crazy and a terrible human being and is at his best when potrayed as such.
I mean we are talking about a guy who lured his Commanding Officer into sniper fire with a cheap trick in Vietnam cause in his head, he can win the Vietnam war alone by himself because a dead body told him so.

Your points make a lot of sense. Honestly a lot of the things he does are despicable, but for him it seems to be a means to an end. He doesn't have anything to lose so he might as well take as many scumbags with him as he can before he goes. I feel like he's kind of a sociopath, but he's also really damaged and probably suffers from PTSD.

SPOILER if you watched the DareDevil season two it was the head injury why he doesn't give a F for criminals. He is missing a chunk of his brain matter.
