How is water made? And also how is heavy water made? SOLVED
Um just curious what causes the hydrogen and oxygen molecules to bond.

You can’t make water from scratch. All the water you see comes from the sea

Yes, you can.

That makes no sense dont you mean a molecuel always wants to reach 8 electrons? And why 8 electrons?

Also guys there have been 40 comments that dont answer the question at all. All those comments are past the 8th one. Please dont just phaph about. Also It is ok to argue on my threads as long as it is semi in on topic. Nope.avi is semi on topic becuase he is still talking about water being made by god.

It's a little more complicated sometimes. For instance, Helium and Lithium don't have to. The octet rule doesn't work with everything, but that is when stability happens a lot.

Hydrogen actually is good with 2 electrons in its outer shell, and then it's pretty stable already. It's called a duet rule. Oxygen would be electronegative, which would attract the Hydrogen's electron for the bond.

Every time a pregnant woman's water breaks, it goes eventually by rain into the Great Lakes, and into the ocean from there.

That water came from the ocean to begin with its simply returning

The first water came from the first pregnant woman, Jenny.
heavy water has a different number of neutrons. If you concentrate enough of those waters with more neutrons you can use it in atomic physics and stuff
I wonder how many pages it will take before someone actually explains so far as is theorised, "how is water made from scratch" which is what i believe Op is asking.
Now some were close but there still missing one whopping ingredient.
simple answer is you burn hydrogen in the presence of oxygen
Heavy water is possible because of isotopes of hydrogen. Look up 'deuterium' and 'tritium.'
God urinated on the earth, and every time it rains it’s because Jesus is crying
Thermodynamically favourability. The Hamiltonian for on-shell state expectation will tend towards the greater entropy. This principle applied to valence electrons underlies almost all chemical process. As mentioned earlier in this thread, the classical lower energy state of fulfilling 4 electron pairs for p-shell Oxygen and the 2 s-shell electrons of Hydrogen are all satisfied with the coupling.

Heavy Water is "made" along with 'normal' water in that a proportion of the Hydrogen will be Deuterium or Tritium in nature therefore, the proportion of water will be "heavy".
water aka 1 H20 = 2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen

heavy water = 2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen + 1 dead body
