Computer generated music sucks

I've been catching a lot of flack lately over my point of view on computer generated music. I think that music like techno and dubstep (and the million other genre's of computer generated music) are generic dog♥♥♥♥♥♥. It doesn't require very much in the way of musical talent to generate a song with recording software. Anyone with a basic understanding of music composition can make a song using computer software. You don't even really have to know how to play an instrument in order to do it. I try to explain this but people keep insisting on making snarky comments like "well if its so easy then lets see you do it"... Well here you go. This is my debut track.

Keep in mind that I only spent about 10 minutes recording this, and the only actual instruments I am playing are the guitar and violin. Everything else is done by applying different filters and overlaying a couple drum tracks.

no, i dont like him BECAUSE i dont THINK he's that talented. the only time i've listened to him was when my dad showed me that one video that had him as the background music. sounded kind of garbage.

Mastering an instrument and mastering computer software are two different things

As Pablo Senor pointed out my track was made with a little software trickery in reversing some of tracks in the song.

It might not be the best example but it still proves the point I think

I’ll agree there’s some real bad electronic music but it’s really subjective as to what music you like. Musical talent is also present in some electronic songs, it’s not fair to assume all electronic songs don’t require effort. Take for example these artists: FM Attack, Blank Banshee and Skrillex. All very different styles of CG music, and probably different skill levels for each of them.

No doubt that music sounds better if you at least have some talent but at this point anybody can become a music star. Look at the horrible pop and rap that plagues our music industry today. Some people might enjoy some ♥♥♥ talking about how many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ he gets and some don’t. It’s still not fair to say all pop and rap sucks, you’re probably just not looking hard enough for better music.
