How to sever limbs on a Stage? (MONTY PYTHON)

In a re-enacment of Monty Pyhton and the Holy Grail, the Black Knight has his left arm, right arm, right leg and left leg cut off.

Is there any way to fake this in a live play?

So far, for the arms, I'd sew a black cloth (matching the shirt) onto the back, sewing at the top and bottom, but not the sides. So basically, creating a pouch open at the sides. If his left is cut off, we'd position him as he's being cut to stick his arm into the pouch at the back, so when the sword swings and makes contact, his left arm would be off.

The same would be done for his right, and...

Only way to do the legs is if you are allowed to use wires. You'll have to have your black knight actor wired up, and have his legs tied up behind him while he 'stands' on the prosthetics then you cut him off at the knees.
