Is there a difference between a normal chair and a "gaming" chair?
Most stuff with "gaming" in its name is more expensive than it needs to be I want to know if there is a real difference between a "gaming" chair and a normal chair.

Studies have shown that gaming chairs, like RGB lighting increases your FPS, skill and attractiveness to the opposite sex, or same sex, which ever combination you prefer.

Personally I just want an actual luxury cars front seat as a chair, those 'gamer' ones are to small and too expensive lol

I think I'll take a normal chair.

Just slap the word gaming on your plain office chair, 1st world problem solved.

But for real get a comfortable chair, doesn't need to be fancy, or exotic chair, as you will not be looking at the chair 90+% of the time, and you probably wouldn't be caring what it looks like as long as it's comfortable.

You could get an expensive gaming chair, or simply a Markus chair from IKEA for (relatively) cheap. Not much of a difference in terms of comfort.

Get a nice comfy office chair for executives and it's usually half the price of vinyl covered butt numbing racing chair that they pass for gaming.

My back hurted like hell when I got my gaming chair, but when I got used to it, I noted that is much more comfortable. Most likely so far my previous chair was kinda crappy and my back used to being in some weird poses.
Mine is a DX Racer clone with a bit simpler design but better material.

A "gaming" chair is a cheap "ergonomic" chair.

An actual Ergonomic chair cost 3-10 times the "gaming" chair. Some costs $2,000.

Your normal $50-$100 office chair is usually throwaway within 1 year at best.

My gaming chair is the most comfortable one I've ever owned. It's not even a mega expensive one, an AK Racing. It holds you in place far better than some of the super expensive chairs I've tried. Much nicer to sit in for long periods.

I, as a designer, consider a gamer chair, which is "uncomfortable", makes user change position every 10 minutes, and every 20-30 throws off on floor the player - long-term static stresses on the spine(vertebra) and the eyes are very harmful to health

For example Duo ballance or Pendulum by Peter Opsvik
