Need help making a baseball bat holster/strap to back. Any advice?
Hello everyone.

A photographer friend of mine is going to a convention, and this is the first time he is dressing up. The character he is dressing up as is also a photographer, and always has a bat with him. My friend has recently acquired a fake, safe, but real looking bat from a friend of his. However, he cannot actually hold onto it during the entire day, seeing as he needs to take pictures, and he cannot damage it in any way. However, he may need to take it off a few times if he is to pose for others for pictures, which is common.

Is there a way to make some sort of holster for this? Like, a strap or something that goes around the back for a bat, WITHOUT drilling holes in it whatever? Also, one that hopefully doesn't lead to the bat swinging around wildly while he's walking around and stuff. Maybe positioned diagonally around his back?

Extremely crudely drawn pictures of ideas earn bonus points, but really, I just want some advice.

Yeah, the convention has a policy on real "weapons", but he has a fake one that looks real.

Edit: I mean good luck and all. I hope you get response. I'm just mildly fascinated by the way it sounds. Unless it's inflatable... I don't see how it would be any less of a possible weapon.

It's quite soft. It's not real wood, more like a soft rubber. Still probably dangerous, but it gets by.

Well could always buy a rifle holster that would fit the size of the bat. The other option is to home make one.

Might be easier if I didn't live in Australia where such guns are pretty much illegal.

Well as I said you could make one. Just look up some pictures, and make something that look likes close to it. I would start looking at the gun holster Ash uses in the Evil Dead movies.
