I admit that I never played nightmare ned, but vaguely remembered a commercial on a mid to late 90s VHS for one of Disney's animated movies. But looking back on it on youtube, the colors were more vibrant then I remembered. But then again, we might be more likely to get something like this (Just not explicitly the example shown below).
