Well I finished catching lugia and ho-oh in gold version this afternoon. It was a nightmare. Both birds in gold version know recover. I threw over 200 ultra balls at lugia lvl 70 with it being burned. I finally gave up and master balled it. I only got 3 ball shakes 2 times on it using ultras.
Then lvl 40 ho-oh had recover and safeguard to prevent me from putting it to sleep very often. It took 50-80 ultra balls and training up a hypnosis poliwag.
They nerfed the 3 legend cats hidden ability into the ground, so they probably aren't worth catching in gold/silver VC. Preassure is probably better than inner focus.
If you get Red/blue/yellow/gold/silver on VC you an easily decide the nature of the pokemon when you transfer them. And they always transfer with hidden ability.
One area it saved me a lot of time was transfering a poliwag from red. So it will have drizzle as a politoad over sos chain forever in sun/moon.
Going back to play old versions reminded me how crazy hard legendaries used to be to catch.
I hope they improve upon S/M, as I didn't like them as much as OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire.
Nice to see Kommo-O getting buffed though. Hopefully he'll get somewhere near Garchomp/Goodra/Salamance/Tyranitar level good.
Maybe not that good, but close.
Not sure if it would work.
"I mean e shop. (Nintendo store I do use)."
The eshop is usually badly priced. titles made by nintendo are nearly always 39.99, even old ones. With a couple 29.99. The main reason to use the eshop is so you have the games on your sd card and don't need to card swap. You get gold mynintendo coins when you buy eshop, but my nintendo rewards are kind of trash.
Though you can get free 3ds themes with silver coins,
There are some exceptions though eshop Gold/silver with pokebank let you transfer to current gen. And they get you a gold/silver 3ds theme and a celebii.
Red/blue just lets you with pokebank transfer your pokes you get in it to modern gens.
I got ultra moon as eshop because I got tired of swapping sun out all the time whenever I wanted to play monster hunter, animal crossing, ect
The ultra moon/sun eshop reward was absolutely terrible though. you get a code for like 10-12 quickballs when you start ultra sun/moon. And thats it.
Red/blue/Yellow eshop version along with pokebank (5 dollars a year) lets you download a program on your 2/3ds caled poketransporter. This program lets you pick the game, if its R/B/Y it will go to PC box one on those versions. And upload everything from pc box 1 if you say okay.
Those pokemon are now in pokebank. And poke bank can transfer those pokemon to modern pokemon games.
The total experience points a R/B/Y pokemon has when poketransported decides the nature it is given. So you can easily get the nature you want. Pokemon from R/B/Y always transport with their hidden ability. Pokemon from R/B/Y Always have 3 perfect IVs too.
If you want a celebii code, to get 1 you need to buy 1 copy of either pokemon silver or gold VC in the eshop. You also get a theme for your 3ds for you picked version.

If you buy Red or blue version. Do note they are black/white/gray only. With an option to make them the pea green the old gameboy had. But they won't be red or blue color as when you played them on the gameboy color. And you can't enlarge the screen like you could if you put a gameboy cart into a GBA.

Having access to the old eshop titles can give you access to hidden natures you might not otherwise have like hidden nature mewtwo, hidden nature 3 elemental birds, hidden nature 3 elemental cats, hidden nature lugia, hidden nature ho-oh. Pokemon from the olds gens might learn moves they cannot learn in modern gens like some learning zap cannon.
I heard Sun/Moon changed a lot, but really all the new changes just sound like Bioshock Infinite's changes for the sake of arbitrary change (they're not Plasmids, they're Vigors! They're not Gyms, they're Island Trials!) and what was drastically changed just sounded not like what I'd want for a Pokemon game. I hope the DPP remakes actually end up in Gen 7, and I hope it's a lot more back to basics. I don't want to have to collect stones to make my Pokemon overpowered and to give them super moves when all that really adds is one or two more steps to battle when a super effective powerful attack like Blizzard could wipe out the enemy without needing to power up and play an unskippable cutscene of my trainer channeling Johnathan Joestar to make Pikachu turn into a lightning bolt and wipe out the countryside.
Gamefreak said pokemon ultra sun/moon are the last pokemon games for the 3ds. So if thats to be believed the diamond/pearl/platnium remake will be on the switch, if they happen.
Pokemon sun/moon/x/y are what made breeding very easy for perfect ivs. But one feature sun/moon added thats unique is bottle caps.
Bottle caps let you give a pokemon a perfect 31 iv stat (For battle, not in breeding). So if you caught a shiny you love and it has an awful iv spread, you can max all 6 of its ivs permently for battle via bottle caps. Like you can give that porygon Z all 6 31 ivs.
There are also ability capsules in sun/moon (Which did exist in gen 6) that let you change the ability of a pokemon (But not to its hidden ability) if your favorite pokemon has the wrong ability.
The only 2 things missing now to turn any pokemon into a perfect pokemon is a nature change item and a hidden ability enabling item.
You honestly don't have to collect many mega stones. There are mystery gift codes that give you nearly every mega stone. http://www.ign.com/wikis/pokemon-sun-pokemon-moon/Mystery_Gift_Codes minus the few you can buy from the battle tree with BP in sun/moon
The only stone for me that is an absolute nightmare to get in sun/moon is the shiny stone or dawn stone, whatever its called. Its the stone used to turn a ralts into a gallade and a snowrunt into a froslass. You only get 1 via story and its sold no where. The only place to get extra is the Poke Pelago by a small rng chance.

He forgets to mention if you put poke eggs in the hotsprint island it will hatch them.

"For those asking, some pre-orders delivered the game a few days early! But the game is out on the Australian eShop now! Over the next 16 hours it'll go live on all the other eShops! USUM is finally here."
hard to believe people though who play modded versions on sun/moon all the time though. When its not suppose to release here for 5+ more hours. And he's getting tore up in the video comments for already being post game.
Right away with the lvl 2 ratata was buneary and caterpie in the tall grass.
The menus, battle music, are "edgy-er" and hp bars in battle seem to go down faster.
Really don't care for the new battle music. It'll probably give me a headache in really long sos chain battles.
You can skip z move animations now by turning off battle animations.
I've beaten the first island. And tbh...... I think regular sun is a better game than my ultra moon version so far (But it might just be I hate moon version). They've subtlely changed some dialouge like hau's that makes him to me less likeable.
They've removed some story cut scenes I liked to force in new features. The totem stickers on each island are fun to find and collect....but then I found out if I collect 20 of them on the first island I get A totem alolan raticate? EWWW no thanks, I think thats one of the ugliest alolan pokemon.
How you meet your starter is less memorable, yet still takes ages if you were trying to shiny reset. Also theres a clear stab at people wanting pokemon following their trainers Your starter follows you for a long time, but then the professer yells for it to pokeball. Also halu has his starter follow him around a lot.
Mantine surfing was ok, but after a single go I was over it.
Even on the first island theres some quite good pokemon from past gens
I tried wonder trade a lot, and got a lvl 19 salandit eith dragon rage that made the rest of the island easy.
Also the event lycanrock is active. I got mine. Its lvl 10 male with a focus sash. Like always soft reset to get the nature you want. Its stats are similar to mid day when evolved. So its only good as a physical attacker with awful defenses and good-ish speed
is that the pack with the 16 art cards and the code to start with 200 pokeballs?
Pokebank doesn't work with ultra yet sadly. I haven't had my friend see if regular sun/moon can link trade yet.
I have a completed sun dex of 302. So i don't really need much. I got ultra mainly for the legends, events, move tutors, ect.
Plus, Nintendo destroys really great fangames regularly and even rigs contests and removes candidate games for nomination. I wouldn't play their games even if they paid me to. I prefer to donate to a fangame creator, who by the way, shows real talent and inspiration, not milking over and over the same old, dumb, childish, easy, oversimplified stuff.
