Help with OBS, sound cutting out

So I try recording PUBG videos and for some reason minor sounds like gunshots will start and suddenly stop, also you can't hear my footsteps, so gameplay seems really quite.....help?

I don't use advanced, I record in 720p I think, I might have accedently put some sort of filter for game audio by accident or something, but idk, I also have noise gate for my mic cuz I think without it I would have white noise.

if you mean the whole volume is like turn down when you open OBS
on your below right
right click on your 'volume' , then click 'sounds'
after that on 'communications' tab , tick *Do nothing* .

so the OBS won't lower your whole system volume when you boot it .

Now that I think about I don't think you mean what I'm talking about, I mean background sounds like footsteps or gunsteps usally start and end very quickly, as if the lower pitched sounds or quieter sounds are being filtered.

Apprently I had noise gate and noise suppression on cuz I thought it was my mic....
