Is it possible a civilization lived before the dinosaurs or prehistory?

Humans have not been around for a long time, the earth has been here much longer. What if a civilization like ours lived a long time before even the dinosaurs? It's possible.

I think it takes an incredibly long time to develop a species like humans, because the complexity of life has to reach a certain point, and the liklihood of it happening on a given planet is so low. As they say, having an advanced brain isn't necessarily the most advantageous thing. It needs a lot of energy to run and it takes a long time for individual's brain to fully mature. A much more effective strategy for survival is to simply reproduce more quickly and in greater numbers. One wonders how or why an intelligent species would ever evolve in the first place, but hey... the universe is a big place.

Well there are mythical civilizations like Atlantis that supposedly were around long before the rest of the human world was developed....

There were other species related to modern humans but if there were other civilizations we should be able to find some evidence of that.

No? Both Atlantis and Lemuria are myths; exactly like Thule/Hyperborea. And the only thing coming out of Mars here on those comets back then, had been bacteria and plain, one-cell organisms. There is no super advanced, (prehistoric or even ancient) alien civilization. If there was, there would be fossils, remnants, anything of sorts.

Of course civilization has been here multiple times. The mayan calander shows this is the last cycle. They are gone and each cycle is gone when it fails. We are about o fail and there will be another cycle after us.

Think of it as a big reset button in your pc games. Until it is done right, we don't move on to the next level. Hard to believe, right? Billions of years and this is the best we have?

That German doc examining the calendar didn't know jack and botched up big time. Last person who knew exactly what said calendar meant and how it is supposed to be translated/deciphered, had been their (Mayan) last High Priest. Still, though, that piece is more "occult", rather than "science tool"... Take everything "lost civilization" with big grains of salt!
