Should Games have a "Clean" and "Explicit" Version? (Part I)
If cost was a non-issue, what would be your idea on games having clean and explicit versions. For example, a clean versions would edit out any swearing, gore, disturbing images, etc. This would exist so developers of more Mature games could make their work accessible to kids without parents/politicians throwing a hissy fit.
EDIT- Money is a non-issue

In Team Fortress 2 you can activate the pyrovision, people laugh when you kill them with rainbows and explosions are substitued with confettis.

Should be as a free option, you could enable it in same way as opt-in in beta versions.

I dont like idea for example they sell blood DLC in Total War games… and you have to re-buy it for each new game (but on the other hand, they'd just increase game price if they added blood for free)

A mature game created for a mature audience shouldn't be censored since it being mature is the whole point. In general, getting rid of mature content harms the game, whether it'd be story or gameplay.

Censorship shouldn't be forced, nor should games be censored for a younger audience when that is not the targetted audience.

My thoughts on censorship apply to different forms of media as well, such as comics or TV shows.

Imagine taking Killing Stalking and removing all of the abusive/mature aspects of it - you are removing the main theme of the comic by doing that, and a bunch of other important aspects leaving it completely shallow and pointless.

So why do musicians get away with it?
Costs way less for a musician to produce 2 versions of an album when a game requires much more in production costs.

What?

Music is censored?

The hell.

Some songs have the swear words muted out. EA games tend to do this

It's easy to take out the blood and change all weapons to kid's toys
I remember perfect dark on n64 having the option to censor swear words and turning blood and bullet holes into paint making it more lighter like goldeneye
