What is scarier, Psychological Horror or Body Horror?
I'll start. In my opinion, psychological horror is the scariest because of how real it is. You can probably still sleep easy at night even after watching a body horror movie because you know that whatever monstrosity was so scary in the movie, you know that it doesn't exist in real life. In psychological horror however, this becomes much scarier, as this could happen to anybody. Horrible, evil men are much more real then horrible, evil monsters.

Body Horror if it's well done.

This!

The Thing springs to mind.
showing of skins, lots of fun, then lights off, a little rain and fog, some lightning, lights come on, one dude goes out and does not come back, one girl screams, lots of girls scream, lots of skins, then death comes to all... good enough...

Psychological horror.
It's far better than body considering
most of the times your mind is basically doing
all the spooky ♥♥♥♥ for you, imagine this.

A. You see your friend getting impaled
with a spike, before being mutilated, and
eaten by cannibals.

or

B. The darkness, nothing but an empty
abyss of nothingness, empty, silent, and
nothing. It's terrifiying, it makes our brains
wonder what the ♥♥♥♥ is in that darkness, and
makes us want to avoid it since we don't know
what is in there, or what it is.

But this is just a silly opinion of mine.

A Mix.
I know, it's against the rules of this discussion, but say, the film Hellraiser was much more terrifying then Shudder Island and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (even though with TCM I still cherish it).
I would definitely count Hellraiser as a mix between slasher, body, and psych.

Going with psychological horror. As a horror fan from the age of 5, I'm currently 32, I can say that psychological horror is the only kind of movies that still scares me.

Psychological horror because it's real fear. Body horror is disturbing things, part of what makes something horror but not scary.
