Glad you liked it, but I have to say, I wasn't grooved on the atmosphere, as it made zero attempt to actually be immersive, which I like in a disturbing game.

There are so many, but I will mention one game that stands out for me, and that is Silent Hill.

The most disturbing games I’ve played would have to be the F.E.A.R. trilogy. I got the collection for free as part of some Christmas event from when I first joined Steam, and I played all three of them back-to-back a few years. For the next two or three days, I had some horrible dreams about Alma and blood-soaked skeletons, and I woke up pretty freaked out.

It turned me off of wanting to play any more horror/gore games, to be honest. I’m still not entirely sure if I want to go back and continue Amnesia, if I’m going to have nightmares like that, afterwards.

It’s sad, too, because I’d really like to play through them again. I remember enjoying the storyline, though I’ve completely forgotten it now. And it’s very rare (this is basically the only one) that I enjoy playing a modern-/military-style shooter.
