Why do so many people troll these days?
I'm 24 (soon to be 25) and I basically witnessed the pinnacle of dial-up and instant messaging as a kid.

Stuff like MySpace, Yahoo messenger, IMVU were all the rage in the early 2000s.

But (and maybe it's just me), it's just seems like there is an influx of trolling on forums, discussion topics, threads, etc. And it's not like growing up there weren't any trolls or anything, but...to put it into perspective 4chan (and especially /b/) you'd rarely see a troll. There were actual legitimate topics.

Again, maybe it's just me but idk. I know some places have better moderation, but I feel like it's more than just that. I don't want to blame the younger generation buuuuut who uses social networking more?

Growing up back then it was the older folks (not super old, but like 30s and 40s) using technology and it just seemed like there was a sense of social etiquette even in the face of anonymity.

calling it now, this thread is gonna become a thread where everyone just hates on kids/teenagers lol
It's all about power dynamics.
Because they have nothing better to do with their time.

Once you set tasks for yourself (or have someone else force them on you via work), you simply don't have time to troll.

I think it's just the meme culture, and all of the things that come with it. I think the thing now is the dumber the cooler.

Humor has really taken a rise on the internet with technology and social media becoming a daily part of our lives. That also could be a reason, being that there are so many people now integrated, there are simply a lot more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and idiots with us.

It could be simply the places that we choose to visit Harbor more of that crowd than other places. I highly doubt on WebMD there are people talking crap to each other and trolling each other about AIDS.

In the end there are a lot more people on the internet and the variables just speak for themselves. We are on an off-topic forum for video games and not one surrounding something benign such as a historical society for senior citizens.

When I take over the world, I will round up all the trolls and force them to work at road and bridge toll booths.

It will be the one job where "troll" is a positive when being considered.

Wasn't the first rule of the Internet not to talk about the /b/
So you probably heard that Jazz jackrabbit 3 is not coming out. So it begs a question "What happens for a game to be cancelled?".

One solution would be that the game was bad. But all people are made equal, but they all are different and some of them are bad. We dont kill those people so the game wasnt bad and this answer for cancellation.

Hmmm. Maybe the creators abandoned the game. People abandon things too but after some time they remember and think that they made a good thing or made a terrible mistake. But the game had a demo and it was good.

Damn another theory has been busted.

Maybe the game was dead all the time. Humans dont evem know what are their purpose of their lives and die thinking their answers will be answered in another life but in reality after death there is nothing because we all live in our brains and die inside them. So maybe when we die our brains creates a new life inside and we live there for enternity and it happened before. Or after death we travel to another dimension and live a new life not knowing that we died in another dimension. Like a game that is never released in this universe but is released in another. So the solution to everything is death?

In other words game is not out yet.
Because humanity sucks. Society sucks, we all suck. Thus, trolls exist, aka 8 year old Americans.

The funniest part is that most of the trolls I've encountered are older than me, and come from all over the world.

Gotta love it when someone who is almost 10 years older than I am, decides that being a full-time troll is their destiny.

Trump and Kim Jong-un are the best trolls in the world!

Comon, why else would a country who spends $601 billion of US tax payers money towards military warfare and has 2000+ nukes, be threatened by another who spends $3 billion and created 20+ nukes, yet wants to become a target for the rest of the world to attack. Both acting like kindergarden kids in a sandbox, triggering the rest of the world into reactions.

Trololololololol much!

I think i found the issue. You take the internet seriously and you're looking for actual discussions on the internet.
It's either Private Messages or deal with it.

Yeah, why do people expect to not be harassed when talking to other people, sheesh! Such silly geese.
