Steam RPG games like Earthbound?
One of my favorite games. :) Are there any Steam games a little bit like it?

I haven't played Earthbound myself, but Secrets of Grindea might interest you.
Doesn't seem like there are a lot of games in the same style that are storydriven RPGs.

Gotcha.

I beat Undertale. :)

Secrets Of Grindea is a possibility but I think it is still Early Access?

Literally everything to come out of RPG Maker

Some say Citizens of Earth. It's got its own flavor and style, but it definitely draws some inspiration from Earthbound.

What specifically do you want in a game that's "like Earthbound"?

If you want the top-down view and the bizarre atmospheric nature of things, there's Anodyne, though that's not an RPG.

Earthbound was descended from Dragon Quest in its presentation style, and there's a Dragon Quest game on here, but it's probably nothing like Earthbound.

A good lot of RPG Maker games (but certainly not all of them) DO have a similar presentation style, with respect to the battles at least. Basically, big pictures of the enemies, and your characters are barely even shown if at all, except via status boxes. But Earthbound's claim to fame isn't the battle system (except the rolling HP meters), but rather it's the humorously absurd style that riffs on RPG tropes.

In that sense, Undertale is probably most similar, both with presentation style (aside from adding shmup gameplay to the battle system), and its willingness to challenge and parody RPG tropes, though it goes a lot farther than Earthbound does.

I own Anodyne but barely touched it? Maybe I should return to it at some point. :) I heard High Strangeness was tagged as similar but IDK...

The usual comparison for Anodyne is that it's Zelda, but dreamy. But the aesthetic style is sorta common to both of them and Earthbound, and it does have some of the surrealism that Earthbound has.

I've never heard of High Strangeness.

Citizens of Earth was made by some of the original devs (from what I remember) and actually takes place within the same universe, so try that.

Lisa has a very similar art style to Earthbound and the combats about the same.

Get this game

It's probably the best thing to ever come out of RPGMaker
