Laptops have little to no cooling ability, so companies have to custom-tailor components to work at lower TDPs, which hurts performance and ups the cost
Then there's the fact that they have to use batteries and company-made motherboards, which skyrockets the price even further.
.. just because the build is a bit tricky the end result just doesn't justify the insane price
They use company-tailored components that are soldered to the body.
They have to be specially designed to run at lower temps and use less power to prevent fires and stressing the battery.
whatever... my point is that the final result doesn't justifty the price
i'm probably just gonna get a tablet and call it a day... laptops just seem like a ripoff to me, their concept is cool and appealing but when you look at the bigger picture they're just not worth it
watching movies and surfing the internet i can do that on a tablet no need to spend a small fortune on a laptop just so it will last me more than 5 years
Like it's mentioned above, there is a lot more to manufacturing a laptop then your standard desktop components and that cost is going to be passed onto the consumer, naturally. Since you already made up your mind and feel it isn't worth the cost, don't get one.
Gaming? Better off with a PC.
Just want to watch videos & browse the internet? Sure, go for a tablet instead.
Laptops seem to be just right if your occupation/hobby is development of any kind and you also need portability.
In my case, I'm taking networking, administration, business software, and various programming courses for college. I need a portable system capable of running such applications, and a laptop is perfect for that.
not for gaming... just for movies, internet, photoshop, emails, office.. the problem is yes you can do all these with a laptop of any price but not on a laptop of any price that will last
that's the problem i find with laptops...i'm basically forced to pay a small fortune just so the damn thing will last more than 5 years without turning into a useless crap like it happened before
For the case about MacBooks, it's all about brand name, and they can easily up-charge their stupid little laptops to $2500 when they're complete piles of ♥♥♥♥ because every upper middle class 14 year old thot would suck an entire ♥♥♥♥ carousel for a single product that has the "Apple" brand name attached to it.
