Soooo now uncensor patches are against the rules now?
I get up, check youtube and see

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcQTwUxqlzY

Bad month for adult games, following patreon banning adult content they don't agree with.

Still fine to kill people and be ultra violent in games.

Download all the patches!

They do not allow the DEVELOPER to link to an uncensor patch or mention it in their forum.

Does not stop users from doing it. I took a look around, indeed most of the games that had "official" uncensor patches took down their pinned topics with links.
BUT, 95% of those games never had a official patch and the patches were provided by users who gave out links to fanpatches in the forum or wrote guides for it.
ALL of those are still up. So basically, this changes absolutly nothing at all.
Just another way for Steam to have "clean" hands and say " see? we do not allow the devs to post something like that. What the users do after buying the game is not our problem."

So who cares.

Poop heads, that's who.

Nobody seem to care, that in 15 minutes, I can visit a strip club, get freaky with a hooker, and go get in a fist fight with a cult full of naked dude with dongs flapping in the breeze in GTAV with no effort on my part.

It is mostly due to that anime angle, I am sure.

Or that Rockstar simply has enough money and influence not to care. Most games affected by this hypocritical censorship policy come from small studios which can be pushed around. Meanwhile, rich studios get their heels licked clean and are allowed extensive freedom to implement all kinds of content and shady business practices.

Sure, that has a lot to do with that. The same people who whine about " weeb" games are the same who play GTA 5 , driving over civilians and shooting prostitues in the face with a shotgun. Because that is good family entertainment, not like that filthy weeb crap.
Or even better play nothing but WW 2 games and roleplay as some nazi edgelord on their profiles.
The irony is completely lost on those users.

Nah. I can think of plenty of smaller studios that do something similar. The patch issue is that the game is marketed and sold as a censured version. Directly linking your companies patch to make it not so defeats the act of removing it in the first place.

It is literally an empty and hollow move, as all it does is prevent the company from listing the link itself.

Oh, don't even get me started on the hypocrisy of of how sex versus violence is treated. Although, I have found myself with a weird, nagging little voice that has had me actually understanding the reason to a degree.

I hate that little voice.

You sparked my interest as to what that reason is. My personal view is that the affected games tend to depict sexual content in a rather romantic context. I only keep asking WHY romantic sex scenes are treated as something deviant that needs to be censored.

Well, the little voice tells me that parents amd the population at large view it that, no matter the game, most kids are not going to rob a bank and go on a murder spree after a car jacking. BUT kids can and will most likely have sex. Despite all the protests against violent video games, parents don't honestly believe their child is going to become a maniac. What the do think is that their kid is going to get hopped up on the sexy sexy media, and end up doing the old hanky panky with the kid up the street.

It's honestly WAS a super realistic issue years ago, as the sex talk was either poorly explained, just don't do it, or never presented at all. Throw that in with school health classes not actually teaching anything, and it lead to a lot of kids figuring that crap out on their own. It's a hold over from the last few generations of dealing with sex. But today's kids, for all the crap they get wrong, are actually one of the most sexually informed generations to have come along, with all that knowledge at their fingertips and the answers to their questions readily on hand. There is a reason that teen pregnancy is at an all time low and young adult STI's are getting almost non-existent.

But you see, the parents, all they can remember is what it was like for them as kids. And the crap they watched, or got up to. So, rather than trust in their children, they do the same thing THEIR parents did. Deny it.

It really is a wacked out cycle, that hopefully we will be breaking soon.

Nah. You can still buy it. You just have to look up and go the devs site yourself to make it so you can see the poorly drawn nekkidz!

+1 to the poorly drawn part lmao. I've seen some things under there that would make you actually laugh out loud.

Nude patches has always been there.
It´s funny, seeing everyone playing Quake 3 Arena in their nude custume. It has nothing to do with sex.

It´s for the laughs, guys! I can´t believe how serious everything has become.

There are a lot of religious tools in high positions... Thats your reason...

Easy fixed..

Just create a website where Devs can upload and gamers can go to download uncensor patches outside of steam, cut steam out completely and then the agenda groups can whine all they like, but cannot do anything as its outside of steam..

I'd love to share your optimism, but it is actually bound to get worse, as parents seem to shift parenting duties to the media more and more. And that's a problem affecting a large chunk of the world. I go out to a restaurant to eat when I don't have the time to cook and what do I see? Young parents chatting over coffee with their kids by their side, face glued to the smartphone or tablet. When I enter a classroom (I work as a teacher), I see a plethora of disinterested youngsters who care only about the most recent facebook or instagram posts. I may be bitter about censorship, but seeing how parents are rapidly losing interest in parenting... it's a mandatory evil. Even so, sometimes I need to raise my voice against things which seem wrong from my point of view. I am a human being, not docile livestock (much as employers and ruling parties would LOVE me to be).
