If you're injured as a werewolf you're supposedly injured when you turn back into human form so it's a big downside especially if it's fatal. Also silver can still harm you.
Staying out of sunlight isn't exactly hard nor avoiding crucifixes. Also, being afraid of sunlight seems to be something added more recently in vampire lore through film, according to a book I have.
Aside from vampires:the masquerade, nothing comes to my mind when it comes to vampires in games.
