Overall the game was fun in coop tho!
Lightning is basically a female version of Cloud, Hope is a mistake, Fang was.... forgettable, Vanille was not that horrible with Japanese voice, and Snow.... Eh, at least his theme song kicks ass.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 however haves much worse story with.... Time travel....
It doesn't look as bad as Xenoblade 2 though...
You know my opinion on Fates (Currently replaying it now, and my opinion still stands), so I don't want to devolve this into yet another flamewar.
With that being said, probably Quest 64. "Oh no our orb that runs our entire economy has been stolen! Please fetch it for us!" "Oh, that orb we wanted back because it's our entire livelihood? You can have it. Good luck on your journey!"
That's just some super generic animu/furry trash story - which is sad, because gameplay-wise the game is decent.
Another bad one is Fantasy Life.
We're on agreement over Xenoblade X, though! Lol
Say what you will about Fates' story, at least the gameplay's some of the best the series has ever seen.
It's done to keep you on your toes and make the overworld more interesting.
I don't think you'll believe me, but the enemies in XCX were more balanced than the ones in the original.
If you think the enemy placement was terrifying in XCX, look up the "Mischevious Nabierus"
In Xenoblade Chronicles X, it just doesn't work. The game's far more open world than Xenoblade Chronicles was, but it commits the massive sin of making entire sections of the map be a Lv. 40 - 50 indigenous ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and if you wanted to explore, you're going to have to play the world's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Metal Gear Solid game. Unto itself, for a game all about exploring as far as you can see, the fact that the game doesn't even do that is something I find inexcusable on the developers' part. For Christ's sake at LEAST make it so that the areas of the world scale to your level, but nope, my exploration is interrupted by an indigen spelling "TPK" for me and my team.
Again, I respect your opinion, man.
I think it's fine to have a mix of enemy levels, but a system that would make only enemies near your level or lower able to detect and chase you down would have been nice.
