It was never cancelled on Fox. Fox just stopped paying for new episodes and thus never renewing its contract.

Comedy Central did not cancel the show. The just decided to not renew it for another season which is why the last half of the last season started to tie up loose ends.

I thought it was as a result of parent or adult backlash or something due to a specific part of one of the later episodes
