Random: One reason i dislike multiplayer games..
I am sorry, but one thing that annoys me in multiplayer video games is being rushed.. Like in Guild Wars 2 i want to read quests, lore, and look at beautiful vistas.. But when playing with friends they are like "Come on dude, we gotta move to the next quest!..". Like dude, just let me play how i want..

Then i play Destiny 2 beta on PC at 100+fps, wanting to look at gorgeous views, and look at the environment, but then i have teamates shooting at me to make me follow them... This is why i like SP games T-T Not really talking about competitive mp games since you have to attack others, but mp where you works together, and explore.. I just want to take my time, and immerse myself into the world, and its lore.. Everyone else just wants to move as fast as possible, and get to the end.. Very hard to find people to play with because of this i guess.

I just play Singleplayer, or co-op sometimes, because I hate 80% of people.

Well, I never really enjoyed MP either, unless it was a fighting game. I'd rather just stick with SP.

You play multiplayer games and you play them as if they were single player? I do understand your point but I also see that you're being very inconsiderate, in a team based game, you're not the only person playing and they depend on you, if you're just stood around reading quest books that they have read hundreds of times and are rushing you because their wife is about to get home in 10 minutes...

Play single player games if you don't like multiplayer.

Well if they ar emy friends i would know what they were going through, and would hurry to help them. But there are MP games like MMOs, and such that i want to play, and enjoy, and there are games like Destiny 2 that also enjoy but i want to take my time. I wish they would just let me play by myself then. Whats the point in making all these beautiful enviroments, and such if we're just gonna rush past all of it in a second.? Idk, maybe it is selfish, but i paid for the game, and i feel like i should be able to play it how i want.

What's the point of creating a living, breathing world if you expect your players to only play it for the loot?

Selfish probably isn't the word for it, everyone enjoys games differently but when it comes to games which generally repeat content so the players can grind currency then a lot of people start to lose patience.
Destiny 2 can be played single player but it also has some missions which require team work but the multiplayer levels can be experienced single player, the only difference is the enemies and the objectives so you're not missing out on the art and stuff.
As I said, I do understand your point.

Because loot takes time to get and time keeps players paying the mmo subscription or in the case of destiny, keeps players wanting to be max light level.

EXACTLY! lol Why try making your team make beautiful enviroments, and lore if everyone is just gonna rush past it? Like excuse me for trying to take those developers work more seriosuly.

I didn't know it could be played single player, this wa smy frist time with the series, and i didn't see any way for it it let me play by myself, if this is the case then awesome. Even if they did it before, that doesn't mean my first time playing those missions should be rushed. I should be able to slowly enjoy it too. They can join a different group if they don't like it.. Though if i cna play SP it doesn't really matter.

Story missions are generally like the opening mission of destiny 2, a lot more cinematic, more voice chat but unfortunately the first one didn't have many of them so I cannot speak for the second one.

What I can say is a lot of the game could be played single player such as patrol where you could go to one of the planets and do side missions and visit areas that you visit while playing with other players on a mission.

That's not an answer to my question as in, it doesn't address what I asked - why waste resources on worldbuilding if your game is designed in a way that makes people ignore it?

To be fair, a lot of multiplayer games lack depth, they lack lore and interest, take final fantasy xiv for instance, the story in my opinion is generic and really boring with a lot of backpeddling just to keep the fans happy.
I wouldn't play the game if it wasn't for other people, some games are just made by other people.
