Why does everyone hate toad?

I always choose him whether it's Mario Party or Mario Kart. It always ends with a Wii remote being thrown at me. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can not have Luigi without Mario it just feels strange. Even so with Mario without Luigi it just bothers me.
