Sorry, no offence intended but how is that similar to Offworld Trading Company?
Maybe i wasnt clear, we are not looking for fps games, instead strategy, management, simulation that sort of thing.
Excluded are the civ games and transport games (openttd for instance).
My kids have been playing Minecraft on a server that has this 'prison' mode that's like, mine and sell then move on up. Has very little to do with anything prison related other than there being a wall around the area your in. Kinda interesting in a limited way.
The big economic multiplayer that my mates and I played was Arche Age.
First and foremost, the game died when I was playing it a few years ago because of gold sellers, hacks, large guild domination, over population and a broken economy.
Having said that, we did ok for a time. Between about 6 of us we held a small establishment and made enough profit to get by and save up for higher tier stuff. Although it was getting to the point where it was a part time job to maintain what we had.
It's free to play and you can ignore most of the mmo content and just farm an run packs.
lol, speaking of which, there was a time where lvl 1 characters parked in the ah had more gold than all the max level players combined. #ClassicWoW
Playing Satisfactory now. That game needs some economy type content.
Interstellar transport company is getting better. That's more of the top down rts setup.
No multiplayer though.
Anno 2205 would be an interesting content base to spin an multiplayer economic off from.
Damit, I'm sure I've played something else just like Off World Trading Co. but it's just not coming to me... maybe I'm just thinking of buying the AI companies out on Anno.
Multiplayer games should be based on communication and coordination, yet for the most parts of the gaming community, it is sheer toxicity and cringe. Look at CSGO and the slightly better community of Rainbow Six.
How fun can it be when the only kind of communication between players is endless insults?
...judging by the activity of this thread - there's not enough fan-base for this kind of stuff
...sad :(
@Draimond: does any of Anno series have multiplayer at all? i've played a couple of first ones and i don't recall now... but they're a good example of what i'd be looking for in a trading/economy strategy type of game to play co-op with friends...
If you're looking for like PvE see Path of Exile. You get to build up your character and trade with real people.
How time flies!
I cant even recall what i really wanted.
I guess games like Patrician 3, Port Royale and the like with proper multiplayer.
Anno 1800 has multiplayer, its an awesome game but from the time we played it, you "rarely" interact or trade with other players unless you set some special rules from the start.
One game you guys can check out is Interstellar Trading Company on steam. I have limited experiences with the game but seems fun and has multiplayer.
Economics, yes.
